There are some strange people in this world. Really, I mean weird.
The Lufkin Daily News did not print the last letter I sent in. Maybe they missed it. I don’t know. What the did print, today, was the wierdest letter I’ve ever read. It’s totally wacky. A woman wrote to call me a hypocrite, to rant about everything really right wing radicals rant about, and to blame illegal immigration and welfare for the war in Iraq. Strange. Very strange.
The letter is from Huntington, TX, a bedroom community of Lufkin (if it can be called that) where some rather well to do East Texans put rambling homes on large lots but also a place where back-woods redneck thrives among thousands of shacks and mobile homes. (For the record, I live in a mobile home too!) Maybe it’s all that formaldehyde in the particle board flooring. My house has plywood. Anyway, Huntington people are well represented from both sides.
I digress. The letter is so weird I found it difficult to respond in a logical fashion. I did manage to write a short, comprehensive letter. It’ll be on its way to the LDN very soon.
